Sustainable
Development of Water Resources
Warren
Flint served as a member and advisor of a task force convened
to examine
the
criteria that define sustainable water resources for the United
States. The task forced worked in the capacity of an on-going
roundtable comprised of governmental officials, industry
representatives,
non-profit organizations, academicians, and consultants that
met regularly to synthesize and integrate data relative to
the sustainability of surface and groundwater resources. Dr.
Flint's role in the task force work focused primarily on
the development of criteria and indicators
that could be used to measure the sustainability of water resources
on a national basis. From this work he published a journal
article entitled “The Sustainable Development of Water
Resources.” This article is available on-line through
the Water
Resources Update, February 2004.
